Mohamed Mihlar

FOUNDER OF ISRC

ISRC Sri Lanka has been rendering its services since 1997 for the betterment of humanity. Our journey commenced with the initiative to support individual affected by Local Civil war. It was indeed a devastating event but it brought people closer to each other with the zeal to support the overwhelmed families.

This was the moment which led to ISRC being born. Somehow, I had the intention to form an organisation which could support less privileged individuals, and group. This incident shaped the years of thought-process which had already developed in my mind. As such, this event made me realize that perhaps it was about time to make my dream come true.

Ever since then, ISRC continued to observe progress in our work. So far, we have developed the capability to respond to emergency relief work, long term relief projects and customized projects to address certain requirements. Our success stories range from responding to the Tsunami in which we created sources of income for devastated individuals through our IGP programme and Relief Project.

In this journey, It is with the help of all of our donors, our ISRC staff, the implementing partners and the beneficiaries that we are able to achieve our goals. I really appreciate the support that our donors and partners have offered us so far.

I am also delighted that the Board of Trustees (our team) has been further strengthened with the addition of a new trustee during the course of the past several months who adds to ISRC’s extensive range of skills and knowledge from their experience in various sectors.

This year, ISRC made a commitment to sustainable development that brings long term change to people’s lives. I would like to express my gratitude to all whoever supported me to achieve our goal and I hope this report will be a great sample to those who intend to work for a community.
